Privacy Policy

The short version: your resume is stored in your own browser and is never sent to us. There is no account and no database. The one thing that does leave your device is a request to a public code library (explained below), which reveals your IP address but none of your resume content.
Who runs this site
MyATSResume is operated by Owais Khan. It is a free tool, not a company. You can reach me at hello@myatsresume.com.
Your resume data
This is the part that matters most, so I want to be precise about it.
Everything you enter into the builder — your name, contact details, work history, education, skills — is stored in your own browser using local storage. It is never transmitted to a server. There is no database holding your resume, because there is no server-side component to the builder at all.
The practical consequences:
- I cannot see your resume, recover it, or share it with anyone
- Clearing your browser data will delete it permanently
- Your resume does not follow you between devices or browsers
- Download a copy once you are happy with it
Files you import
When you import an existing resume as a PDF or Word document, the file is read entirely inside your browser and is not uploaded to us or anywhere else.
To do that, the app loads three open-source libraries from cdnjs, a public code delivery network operated by Cloudflare: jsPDF for creating your PDF, and pdf.js and mammoth.js for reading imported files. Requesting those files tells Cloudflare your IP address, browser and the page you are on, exactly as loading an image from another site would. Your resume content is never part of that request.
This is the only third party involved in the product, and it is why the claim above is "never sent to us" rather than "never leaves your device".
Job descriptions you paste
Text you paste into the Tailor tab is compared against your resume in the browser. It is not sent anywhere and is not retained after you leave the page.
What is collected automatically
Server logs. The site is hosted by Hostinger. Like every web server, theirs records the IP address, browser type and pages requested for each visit. This happens for every website you visit and is not something I switch on or off.
Third-party libraries. The PDF export uses jsPDF, and resume import uses pdf.js and mammoth.js, all loaded from cdnjs. Requesting those files reveals your IP address to that CDN in the same way as loading any image from another domain.
What is not collected
- No analytics or tracking scripts
- No advertising and no advertising cookies
- No accounts, email addresses or passwords
- No resume content, ever
Cookies
This site sets no cookies. The builder uses local storage, which is a different mechanism — it stays on your device and is not transmitted with requests the way cookies are.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. In practice there is nothing to action, because no personal data is held. Your resume is in your browser, and clearing site data removes it.
If you email me, I will have your email address and message. Write to hello@myatsresume.com and I will delete that correspondence on request.
Children
This site is intended for people old enough to be applying for work and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top will be updated. Should analytics or advertising ever be added, that will be stated here before it happens.
